Wolf Direct V12 Restoration Workshop
Norman's V12 E-Type Roadster

Norman bought this car in the summer of '07 as one of the prettiest convertibles running on Webers but that is where it went a bit wrong, it produced less than 200 bhp and was spitting back so badly that is was amazing the car never caught alight. After the car had already passed through many other "claimed" specialists it was delivered to us with total loss of brakes and the only thing stopping from becoming a big fireball was the complete lack of fuel.

The first thing on the agenda was to stop the oil leaks and get the brakes working. The brake system was full of air and just a simple bleed and fluid change was all that was needed to cure this particular problem.

The oil leaks were another matter, first on the obvious list was the oil filter which was pouring out and was found to be the result of the last person to change the oil filter trying to re-use the old seal which was "nipped" in several places resulting in the leakage. The next major leak was from both the cam cover seals. With these seals replaced the engine suddenly became very clean and lost its habit of vomiting oil out.

With the oil leaks cured Norman asked that the car be returned to standard carburetion and to restore the donor carbs to their original glory.

With the oil leaks cured, a bit of powder coating and some plating carried out the engine starts to take shape again.
